Multi-Resolutions 1.2
Freeware
©Softron Media Services, 1997.
Multi-resolutions is a freeware Control Strip module that allows to select
and change the resolution of any PCI Macintosh video card. The important
thing about Multi-Resolutions is that it doesn't care about the "sense lines"
or the ADB connection to the monitor: it displays all the video resolutions
that the video card is capable of generating.
This small utility control strip module is mostly useful in the following
situations:
- when you hook up a "non-Apple compatible" monitor to a PCI Power Macintosh
and want to skip the hardware "unimac" converter that emulates sense-lines.
- when there is a problem in the ADB connection of multiple AppleVision monitors
onto the same computer and that the usual control strip displays only one
resolution (640x480).
Since the monitor may not support some of the resolutions, you should be very
careful when using this control strip module. After each change of resolution,
a dialog will appear to ask you to confirm that everything is OK. If you do
nothing within 10 seconds, it switches back to the previous resolution.
You may also click on "No" to switch back immediately.
ATTENTION: if you use the "Monitors" control panel to set the resolution (or
any other genuine Apple utility like "Monitors & Sound" or the Apple control
strip module) Multi-Resolutions will not notice it and the selected resolution
will not be displayed correctly in the menu. However, upon restart, the correct
one will be set and updated.
